i finally got the tank to its new home, all cleaned up and ready to roll. i also pulled the rock from the cycling tub, and stuck it in the tank with 60 lbs of aragonite sand. pics will tell a better story than i can!

no pics, but I didn’t forget about this thing… Been soaking in some rodi/salt for ummm i think about two weeks now. not much going on really … i’ll update when something cool happens.

I’m going to start a saltwater fish tank from some things that I inherited and with some help along the way. So far, here’s what we’ve got going on…
The rock was in unknown condition, with unknown problems. Needless to say, there was a problem and that’s why I wound up inheriting it! So, I soaked the rock in bleach for 24 hours, and let it sit out in the sun to bake for 3 days.
Now, I’ve soaked the rock in some RO/DI water from my Mr. Wizard science fair water setup. It’s sat in tubs with powerheads to try and get any and all chlorine out of it that may be left over from the bleach out of it. Next step, another sun bath for a few days.
